 Post subject: D300 power supply

I am trying to find out if possible to power D300 solely with AA bateries (using MB d10 grip)?

I read somewhere that d300 won't function without one EL en3e battery in the body...

thanks
ES

Hi ES,

May I wish you a warm welcome to the CameraLabs forums.

I've moved your post to the Nikon forum as I think you'll get the most knowledgeable replies there.

My own take on this (and I am not knowledgeable about the D300) is that you would need an EL-EN3e or equivalent in the camera. That shouldn't be a problem, though, as the default is for the D300 to use the MB-D10 batteries first (manual, page 287) so a fully charged EL-EN3e should last a very long time provided you regularly swap out the AA batteries.

Anyway, that theory can very quickly be proved or disproved by anyone with a D300 and a battery pack. Over to you, folks...

Bob.
