Hi all.

I need to buy a potrait prime lens for my d7000 but am a bit clueless. im currently opting for 50mm 1.8G now, but some said, go for 1.8D instead since i use d7000, it'll be cheaper. Won't really go for f1.4 since i wont really need it. Comparing the above two, what would u guys suggest for long term spending? Thanks in advance.

I own a D7000 and both 50 1.8 lenses.

For my examples of the lenses (only), the AFS lens is a better performer, sharper from open aperture and all the way down the range. It distorts a (very) little, and that is the only drawback. Achieving manual focus is easier, but there is no infinity stop.

I like the AFS lens, because it is more practicable to make use of the wider apertures, which is why I bought it.
