Hello, I'm new to the site, so haven't looked through all of the threads yet - this may have been covered before, if so can someone point me at the thread :

I've got a D300s, about 18 months old (thinks it's out of warranty by now), 6500 activations - never dropped, well looked after. Recently I noticed that the multi selector wasn't always responding in moving either the focus selector (it was unlocked...) or scrolling through the various review screens. This was an intermittent problem and annoying enough, but within the last month or so other review buttons are starting to play up - most noticeable the image review, but some of the others as well. All of the command dials and other controls work fine - just seems to be the stuff around the rear LCD.

I've not updated the firmware yet - although I doubt this'll help.

The camera will be going in for repair, but before I do this - anyone had similar problems, when fixed will it recur, how much did the repair cost?

Welcome to the forum Hog! In general the price you will pay will be greatly effected by the amount of work that is required by the people at Nikon. If the buttons just need a quick fiddle by an expert it probably wouldn't be too much. If it's something more serious then there could be greater costs. Although I do believe you will receive a quote after they inspect the camera and you will be able to make up your mind form there. To me it doesn't sound like a firmware problem. I suspect there is a physical problem with the buttons... Maybe the wiring or it could be dirt/dust which is forcing the buttons to become 'sticky'.
