I note from Gordons's excellent review of the Pentax 10D that it has a special mode where you can set the aperture and shutter speed and the camera will choose the correct ISO for proper exposure.

For those who may not know this, the Nikon D80 has a similar mode. If you turn on Auto ISO and put the camera in Manual Mode the camera will choose the correct ISO for the shutter speed and aperture you have selected.

Of course you can use it in Aperture and Shutter Priority modes too. However, I set my Auto ISO to a very slow shutter speed and leave it on. That way when I am using Aperture Priority Mode or Shutter Priority Mode it normally will not be activated. When I need it I switch to Manual Mode and set my shutter speed and aperture and know that it will choose the correct ISO, if available. By the way, you can use exposure compensation when in Manual Mode with Auto ISO. For example, if you reduce the exposure by one fstop the ISO will be reduced by one fstop and vice versa.

Gordon thanks. I am really pleased with my D80. I corrected my typo vise versa to 'vice versa. :)
