I am looking at purchasing a DSLR for the first time. I am interested in getting the Nikon D3100 I think...
In looking at them I notice that there are similar D3100's and I am not sure what the difference is really as a beginner DSLR user.

Here is a comparison of the two cameras (both D3100) for the same price (pre sale). stats are very similar. The names of the lens they each come with seem to be different, but I am not really sure what that difference is.

Please help. Thanks

Hello megvan, and welcome to the friendly Camera Labs forum!
To enjoy your stay here please have a look at the house-rules!
The more expensive set has the stabilized (i.e. most recent) version of the lens. Image stabilization helps a lot when lights get dim. So I'd advise to get that combo.
