Of course she's using it professionally - it's part of the Nikon Professional User Program!

JOKING! :D :D :D

Hope you get it and enjoy it!

I hate online bidding sites, I was selling an old item of mine a few months ago, listed it for $70 and I heard back from some 3 people. They all haggles in price for a few days, but when I tried to get them to organize a pickup, I never heard back from two and the third wanted me to drop the item off two hours from my house. I made it clear that my item was pickup only!

Anyways, with online bidding sites, my rule of thumb is that I don't pay any more than 50% of retail price. I actually got my 35mm f/1.8 for something like 35-40% of retail price, so I got a pretty good deal.

Yes you have to be carefull on those bidding sites. It can be nice but sometimes they bid and when you want to arrange a payment or delivery you never hear from them again.

Or you get some nigerian scammer with really vague payment and delivery constructions where of course you never see any money. out of a 100 people 90 will not fall into the trap but if there is a few that do they are screwed.

But this women was nice and the lens looked good and I picked it up today.

It looks absolutely spotless and scratch free. It even came with a B+W F-pro 77mm UV filter. Not sure if that is any good or not but will find it out soon enough.

And also with original box. Which was a silver grey colored box. never seen those before I thought they had gold yellow boxes nowadays??

Hopefully I can make some nice photos tomorrow.

Excellent that you got your lens. B&W makes excellent filters, so you shouldn't have any problem. They're the only filter brand that I use for my lenses.
The older Nikon lenses came in a grey box, so the 12-24 being a lens from 2003 would have a grey box. All of the Nikon boxes used to be grey, the box from my Nikon FM and boxes from my old lenses are grey.

Anyways, enough talking about boxes. Enjoy your new lens, can't wait to see some samples!
