HELLO I AM VERY NEW TO DSLR CAMERA AND I HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A NIKON D7000 CAMERA WITH FOLLOWING NIKKOR LENSES
1-NIKKOR 35MM F 1.8
2-NIKKOR 28-300MM
3-NIKKOR MICRO 105MM
4-NIKKOR 18-105MM

Could anyone tell me which is the best dx nikkor lens for taking night photographs and can above lenses be used for night photography.

Dear Jawad

Any of these lenses can be used for night photography, particularly if you have a tripod.

Handheld, the 35/1.8 would be best because of its light capturing capability. Next would be the 105. The D7000 has very good high ISO performance.

I you put your camera on a tripod you can use long shutterspeeds so any lens will do. If you dont have a tripod be creative and find some surface to put your camera on, like a trashcanlid, the concreet mount of a statue, a park bench, the rail of a bridge whatever you can find. If you use automatic shutter self release it helps prevent movements that can occur if you would press the shutter manually.

Even with 35mm f1.8 it is quite difficult to get a proper nightshot "handheld" (tried it). You really need a stable surface to put the camera on or a tripod and use long shutterspeeds.
