Here's the problem,...

Since the D90 flashes,..to set the SB-600 off,..that millisecond of delay,..means the hummer is moving away(scared off)...

I cant tell you how many shots I've missed,..and I mean just missed.

So,..for next year,..I'm gonna get into strobing anyway,and need some tips on how to solve this issue...

I'm figuring,..all,..at the moment anyway,..I need is a pocketwizard for the hotshoe and the flash.

Am I correct?

Pocket Wizard or the like will do the job.

If you're just using the off camera flash in manual mode, there are cheaper alternatives (Phottix etc). If you're using TTL, then the Pocket Wizard Flex system is the way to go.

I've just picked some up - fantastic bit of kit, and working up to 200m away at the moment

You could try blocking the flash off with a thin bit of black paper that will block the visible light, but let the IR signal though

Ill try that G,..I never knew it used IR to do that,..just visible light.

Nikon sells black plastic bits that do the same thing (though it might be a different plastic that is transparent to IR or something)
