a stuck mirror is 100x better than having your mirror fall off and fly into the lens you're using.


alot of 5d2 users had that problem.

send it in or bring it back to the store.


if you're a professional, i hope you have a second camera.

if not, deal with a point and shoot with that for a little bit.

i haven't heard of a lot of ppl fixing cameras on their own.

ps- my d7000 is about to go in for service as well and it's brand spanking new.

Whats wrong with the D7000 John, is the problem a one off or common with that model?

there's nothing wrong with it. I love my d7000.

the problem in discussion is a stuck mirror. keep in mind that this is Nikon's first endeavor with a hybrid body.

this actually isn't that big of a problem, a quick trip to Nikon and it should be fixed right up, if not take it back to the store.

the defect rate is actually alot lower than what people assume. keep in mind that the world is made smaller with forums and other networking sites so problems seem more common than they are.

i've got more than a few friends with this body and none of them have this particular problem.
