I really enjoyed Ken Rockwell's review of the D300. I think moving from the 10D to the D300 will be a world apart. I wish that I had done this much research before buying the Canon equipment that I have now.

So, how long do you think the backorder will be on the D300? I may try to get on in a couple of months.

Mike

Better order fast. Delivery of the first batch in the US and Japan should start in 3 weeks and everybody is expecting long back orders...

That Nikon supplies lens hoods and pouches in every lens you buy, Unlike Canon with the "L" deal. Nikon, I think are also more expensive but you get what you pay for, i.e. D300 vs. 40D, D200 vs. 30D, D80 vs. 400D

I like:
-build quality(for a plastic body)
-nice viewfinder
-grid overlay(3x3 would be better)
-good menu system
-twin command dials
-perfect size(for me)
