 Post subject: D80 price drop
PostPosted: Tue Oct 23, 2007 10:21 pm
I've just now checked the web page for my usual store and the D80 has dropped EUR 25. So the D80 (body only) is now below EUR 800 in Portugal.

If you can, please check your usual store and report back. Could this be the beginning of a major price drop for the D80, in preparation for a successor? Maybe it's just the reseller trying to move out stock? Again, maybe this is the sign of a successor on the way?

No significant price drop in Australia either, besides the usual "special price" discount reflecting competition between various resellers. But no dramatic price drop as far as I can tell, no price drop indicating the arrival of a new model, in other words.

I've found the D80 body for £507 or £659 with the AF-S DX 18-70mm lens.

Yep: drop! All figures below are Euro (incl. 19% VAT) in Germany.

Keep in mind that this is the lowest street price. I'm not saying that you can or should buy your gear at these lowest price etailers...

Hmm I got my D80 in July for $1800NZD also came with 50mm 1.8, 2 filters and a bag.

Was only 2 weeks old.

That about.... 1300USD, 950Euro.

Was a good deal I thought :) Guy said he wanted a d2x. Ha.

I am getting a D80 with 18-135mm at Circuit City for $1250, so that is significantly cheaper than the normal $1483.

Hi Nathan, check our Pricegrabber page for some D80 + 18-135mm prices.

I just checked and some started at less than $1250. Indeed Circuit City was listed at $1159!

Also check the D80+18-135mm at Amazon. They were also showing prices for $1159 and if you click through this link we even get a bit of commission. Worth considering anyway!

Amazon doesn't ship "electronics" to countries other than where it's based. That is to say, amazon.fr will only ship those to either France or Monaco, amazon.co.uk will only ship to the United Kingdom, etc... :(

Unfortunetly, I can't order things over like $1000. I pickup camera bodies and stuff in store, but I usually can order stuff like lenses and other accesories.
