I think this is new on Nikon's site:

it explains their vibration reduction (VR) system.

Even if it's old, it still is a great way to understand a bit of what's behind VR and what it is worth for. And ultimately, if it's worth the extra cash.

And I've seen a few people here inquiring about VR lately, so I hope this helps. :wink:

It must be new, as some sections are "under construction" esp. the section about "active mode". Would be interesting to see whether I was right with my comments on active mode...

That was very informative. I found the bit about how they try not to cause motion sickness particularly interesting.

Hmmm: "Tripod Detection", "Centering prior to Exposure" and "Active Mode" are still under construction. Perhaps the techies are still trying to explain ot to the marketing guys :) Or the Chief Technology Officer of Nikon still cannot make his mind up whether the explanation will give valuable secrets away :oops:
