Really nice review as is the norm here. I really love watching the video reviews. In any case it didn't change my mind. I have gone with the 70-300mm lense to compliment my 18-55 kit lense.

Nice with another hint to Canons no-hood sales trick :)

Good job Gordie! The review is great, and as it's by far the most affordable option when I do buy a new lens it'll be the 55-200mm (even cheaper in Japan, hurrah!)

And congratulations to your "focus puller" as well. Nice job.

The right side of your face is taking way too much light. Now, when the subject is a face, you really need soft light, preferably using a couple of projectors with softboxes.

As far as background is concerned, it's just outright dull. Although to be fair, there is a perfectly good reason for this, and that is so the codec doesn't have to do a lot of work. It's inevitable for a video of this type, that is destined for the web.

The shirt is ever so slightly darker than the previous ones. Not a big change, but an improvement nonetheless.

There is a hint of echo. This happens because you seem to be in a room with little or no furniture. To correct this, place thick rugs on the floor and velvet curtains on the walls (sheep skins will also do).

Lighting: 3/5
Background: 2/5
Shirt: 4/5
Sound: 3/5

Overall: 3/5

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but, why can't you just give him a 5/5! there's nothing wrong, and I don't really mind the plain Gordan in each of his reveiws. I can't do any better

I'd give the shirt 5 too! As for the lens, I found a good internet deal so I snapped it up for a bargainous price. Arrives in two days!
