Yes - check the 'Accessories' tab at http://www.nikonusa.com/template.php?cat=1&grp=2&productNr=25420. The ML-L3 appears at the bottom of the list.

I purchased one after getting my D40. As mentioned earlier it is designed to be used with the D40 for self portraits and other things. It is very small and as also mentioned can be easily lost if not careful. It comes in it's own little pouch. I keep mine in a secure place within my Lowepro AW100 slingshot bag or whatever it's called. Handy to have along with a spare battery for your D40. :)
