Getting extremely desperate to buy my beloved AF-S 50mm f1.4G. But everywhere in Singapore does not have it till the 20th of december, when people in the US have recieved theirs! I'm returning to Sydney on the 17th, and Singapore's IT stuff and camera gear are quite a fair bit cheaper (also more convienent to buy it here and test it out and sort out any problems). I'm currently based in Singapore. I'd like to know if there are any reputable online stores that sell this lens with a decent price and include shipping? I made a silly mistake possibly buying online this late, i'll make a few calls to stores down here tomorrow but for now any ideas?

I found that. Now the cost of the lens here is around $425 USD. I don't mind paying extra but shipping is definitely going to add up, plus the date of arrival may be slightly unreliable. Or should I just get it in sydney?

Also, I've had the Sigma 50mm f1.4 in mind. Stock should be easier to find. But I just hate running into QC issues. Check this out for those of you who haven't bought it. It's Amazing.

**EDIT - if i can't find it in Singapore looks like I'm going to buy it in sydney. With the current exchange rate I'm actually looking at the lens being cheaper there than here!

If you want a compact 50mm the Nikkor will be a better choice, less chance too of bad QC. I have no further opinions (yet) because I will have my new Nikkor lens this friday/saturday, but I found that the Nikkor AFs felt a lot better when on a D80/D90 sized body.

I figured buying it in sydney would save the trouble, and some $$. If it beats the sigma it's going to be excellent. I can't be bothered to run into sigma's QC issues and the pricing of their 50mm is a tad high. Thanks!

The Nikkor AF-S 50/1.4 arrived today.
Expect some insights soon in this thread.
