But as (3) does only change with the body it can be disregarded.
Magnification is a very important driver of dof so if you get close to your subject or take a long lens you can decrease dof pretty effectively. But that was already explained in detail by Luis...
The one thing that most people don't know or believe is that you can produce an identical dof with a 10.5mm fisheye at f2.8 or a 200mm/f2.8
Just focus on a subject 21cm away with the fisheye or 4m away with the tele. In both cases the magnification is 1:18 and the dof identical.
