Hi, i've baught a second hand d70s with it's kit lens, the 18-70, and it should arrive any day now. I've been told that the metering in the d40 and d80 are relativly the same or "bad" and that the d70s's metering is more like the d200's. Seeing as the d200 has superb metering i'm wondering if the d70s has also. Does anyone have any experience with the d70s?

Thanks,
Craig

First all, Congrats on your new camera! Second, I own a Nikon D50 and D70s and they seem to always to get it right, there are times where you kind of need to tweak with it a little bit. The D40 uses a slightly newer metering system (to keep price low). The D80 and the D200 (I think) uses the same metering methods. My D50 has an excellent metering, but the D70(s) under or over exposes the picture slightly like about 1 or 2 stops at the most.

P.S. The D70 and the D200 uses different methods and approaches, but they virtually have the same efficiency.

Hope this Helps! :D
