Hello Camera Labs! I am posting for the first time, but have been reading on these forums for quite sometime. In my humble opinion this is the best camera forum there is. Knowledgeable users, the best experts... and Gordon, what a treasure!

Question: I am getting a D200 and want to know what are the Weather Sealed Lenses out there. I often shoot in very rugged places, on film locations and such, and want to make sure that my sealed D200 isn't hampered by Non-Sealed lenses.

Any advice?

Looking forward to remaining a part of this community.

Hi Miguel, welcome the Cameralabs forums - and thanks for your kind words!

I've put a call into Nikon for a definitive answer, but if anyone knows in the meantime, shout out!

Gordon

Let's see...

"Dust and Waterproof rubber sealing mount":

AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED (3.8x) <-- get this one, it's both good and affordable

AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED (3.2x)

AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED (2.0x)

AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED (2.9x) <-- very expensive, but good complement to the one I mentioned above

AF-S VR Nikkor 300mm f/2.8G IF-ED

AF-S VR Nikkor 200mm f/2G IF-ED

This information was obtained here.

Thanks Luis, you beat me to it - if Nikon provide me with any further details, I'll post them here...

Luis! Thank you VERY much for the perfect information. It has helped me with the last bits of information I needed to outfit my upcoming D200. Although, maybe I should wait until after the 23rd... a new D200 after the press conference? Could be worth the wait. Either way, the next day I will have fantastic camera and great lenses.
