Here are two samples (100% crops), both shot at f/2.8, the first one at midday sun and the second with cloudy weather.

For me, chromatic aberrations on the first sample are unacceptable. I'm not happy with the focus (sharpness) either.

Frankly, this is less quality than I expected from Nikon glass. :(

ughh i hate this review! I want to buy this lens so bad, but this review makes it looks so bad (well minus Greg's shots/and opinions)

Anyone else have anything positive to say about it? On the bright side i'd be using it mainly for portraits, and not landscapes/nature shots! :lol:

I use the 85mm 1.8 on a nikon 700 and so far I don't regret it. I don't like the minimal focus distance, but everything else is pretty good
