I'd like to share our new video which we filmed at the beginning of october on a nearly windless day.

We flew over the harbor of Büsum which is at the east coast of Germany.
We used the 550d with the Canon 18-55 kit-lens, as it is lightweight.

I hope you like it.

I also wrote a little blog article about it (english and german):

Have fun,

What a cool gizmo. I want one!

Do you have to get permission to fly it in certain areas? (built up areas/over people etc)

Really decent video quality too. Excellent.

Yes, in Germany you need different licenses depending on the size and weight to fly the octocopter. Our pilot for example has a license for an octocopter with up to 5kg (about 11lbs) and an altitude of up to 100m (300feet).

If you are near the airport you need a permission from them.
In the city you have to ask the police, and of course if you film private properties you have to ask the owner.

One of the most unique perspectives, especially for filming. Great video.
