Looking at getting rid of the AGC hiss. Google-ing it doesn't come up with many results. All the posts are from 2010. Anyone have any updates on fixing the AGC hiss?

Thanks so much,

AFAIK the situation (and remedy) hasn't changed much since 2010. At the very least, you're looking at running a level signal (from something like an mp3 player) into one channel (which means you obviously lose the use of that channel for the actual soundtrack) in order to keep the AGC from ... AG-ing, as it were.

There are more elegant (and more expensive) alternatives from places like BeachTek and JuicedLink.

Or you can go with an external recorder. e.g. something from Zoom. (I use their H4n.)
