I hope you folks will indulge my fetish for awesome sound. I currently use an older Canon A720IS that records 640x480 in mono sound as MJPEG avi. I want to upgrade and I'm considering the SX210 IS as it has that big 14x zoom and 720p. But one of my pet peeves with cameras is even the ones with stereo L & R mics have terrible sound. A wet fart in the area can mute the sensor and the sound washes in and out. It seems most all of them suffer in this department. Does anyone have a compact digital that has overly good sound quality in 720 or 1080? I'm not sure what to even look at because no websites ever review sound quality from digital cameras, nor do the companies list the recording specs for sound. If anyone has recommendations for a specific model I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!
