 Post subject: Metering Question
PostPosted: Thu Jun 17, 2010 7:32 pm
Guys

I am new to metering and would appreciate a bit of help if possible.

When incident metering with the Sekonic L-358 it can sometimes match what the camera's reflective meter is seeing an example being metering off an 18% grey card. But there are times when the 5D MKII and meter are way out with each other? Seems to happen if there is more ambient light in the area I am metering from, say by a window. Is this how it is supposed to work? I expected that the meter and camera would be pretty much spot on at all times?

Cheers

Your camera considers a lot bigger scene while metering (In case of evaluate metering). Switch to spot metering and then focus on the same area and the results would be same.
