Camera Labs

Im looking to invest in a Flashgun, and have been looking at the Nikon SB-600, Sigma EF-530 and Jessops 360AFD. Is there anyone who could tell me what the main differences are between these flashguns? and what would be the best one for my camera?

My Camera at the moment is the Nikon D5000.

I would go for the SB-600. It's a great little flash (I have it and like it a lot), and I'm pretty sure you can fire it remotely with the D5000's popup flash

Im pretty sure the D5000 doesn't support Nikon CLS, have to step up to the D90 for that one

I also have the SB600, and its a brilliant flash. If you need something smaller, take a look at the SB400. Its a lot cheaper and smaller, and if you can't use the remote capability of the SB600 it could be an alternative

for the money the sb600 is a better choice. You can bounce and will keep it even if you decide to move forward with your equipment.

my sb600 has been around longer than any other piece of equipment i've got.

Nikon says the D5000 supports CLS with a commander unit, so scratch that...

Still, the SB-600 is a great little unit. I know a pro with many prizes who only uses an SB-600 for event work.
