Got my first DSLR last weekend and these are a few of the first shots I've taken.
Not very exciting subjects I Know but I was passing in the car and keen to try out my new toy!!
Some minor tweaks in PS - contast, shadows/highlights and sharpening.
Comments welcome.

Hi Hilly144,

Congratulations on the new camera. Don't forget, if you would like to, that you can include your new gear in your Signature which can be changed by editing your Profile.

Bob.

Hi Hilly144,

Nice shots! i especially like the windmill shot. The contrast between the windmills and the sky is very neatly done. congrats on your camera!

The first is the Forth Road Bridge and the second is the original Forth (railway) Bridge, near Edinburgh.

I'm not sure about the wind turbines, but since Hilly was near Edinburgh, they could be the ones on Soutra Hill.

I especially like the third photo, the first two might have been a lot better if it wasn't for the Scottish weather! lol at least it wasn't raining.

Hi guys, thanks for the comments, very encouraging.

Thanks Bob for the tip have added it to my signature. Gave up with the wait for the 450d and was hoping to join the 40d club but the budget (wife) wouldn't strech that far but i'm very happy with my D80, great wee camera!

Calmac you're right with the first two but the wind farm is Blacklaw, near Forth, on the West lothian/South Lanarkshire border. There are 64 of these Turbines measuring 360ft(110m) from groud to tip, they're quite an impressive sight.

Hi Hilly:

Congrats on your new camera.

You've got the eye.

Now you just need to explode your creativity.
Very nice photos, now you have the tool.

Cheers

Blacklaw, that's a new one on me. My Dad still lives in Grangemouth so I might check out those turbines next time I'm down. Shame about the flat light in the first two images, they would've been better in the morning or early evening.
