Maghrib is the official time of sunset during Ramadan, and Iftar is the evening meal to break the fast. To mark the occasion, the Dubai Police have been tasked with firing cannons across Dubai since the 1960's. There are 4 cannon in various parts of the city, but this one had a nice backdrop, if a little difficult to fit in!

The very nice policemen allowed me inside the cordon to shoot earlier this week and I got a good shot as they fired the cannon, but I'm not entirely happy with it so I'll revisit throughout Ramadan. Here, a corporal poses proudly in front of the ex British Army 25 pdr. After the firing, they were gracious enough to break their fast with me by sharing food and drink.

Really like this picture. This building looks like something from a futuristic film, almost computer generated.
Its always nice to get an explanation and some background knowledge on the picture captured.
Thanks for sharing
