Hi pmateiro,

That is a very very interesting picture, because it's so confounding (to me anyway). On one hand, it is tempting to just pass your eyes over it and then think that it's just a seemingly random architecture shot....

But the more I look at it, the better it looks! You have some very subtle light gradations and some really delicious hues of blue and gray. The slats and colonnades and tiled floor..makes the space look both high-tech and old/classic at the same time. It's like it was taken right out of the officers' deck on the Death Star!

I think you did a fantastic job, taking what is really a high-contrast scene and retaining lighting on all the features of the space. It's very "moody"...rich with ambiance really...and the more I look at it, the more I want to look at it.

In short: I really like this image and your treatment of it!!

The levels make it like 3D - it "draws you in"....

To...., what? It's a cold place - stark, severe, 'mechanical', feeling..

And the sense of foreboding....

Who - or maybe What - is there...?

LahLahSr and Dave, thanks for your kind and encouraging words.

When I saw the preview at the cameras LCD I also got that eerie feeling, mainly due - I guess - to the white balance being set to "Flash". That gave a blueish tint to the image.

At first I wanted to make an HDR and set the exposure bracketing accordingly. That didn't work well, so I just tried to get the most detail from a single RAW file.
