So I've had my D5000 and have been practicing photography for about 6 months now and was just wondering how I am doing so far

Unfortunately I cannot access Flickr here in Dubai as Big Brother has banned it! Of the 3 photos you've posted though, I'm liking 1 the best. Perhaps a little dodging and burning would help with the blown highlights in the background and the island. I love the way the bench is evenly lit though - care to share how you've lit it (if it is light painted).

Of the other 2, I like the idea of the composition in 2 but the foreground is a little messy, which distracts the eye away from the end of the alleyway.

Just my thoughts, anyway....

It was just car headlights lighting it. Seemed to work out

With the alleyway I wasn't really trying to draw the eye to the end, more just create a grungy kind of scene.
