Hai there .-.

I was just browsing through flickr once again and this is what really impressed me:

You can find most of those shots here:

They're not mine, obviously but I really want to know how to get such an effect! The colors are just amazing and since I'm going to Paris next Thursday I thought I could try to get some new ideas and styles of photography, I'd really appreciate you helping me!

Also, if you have any tips for Paris, go ahead and tell me please ;)

Thank you very much and have a nice evening!

edit: I don't seem to be able to post the images directly from flickr, sorry... Glad if someone told me how to do that but if you don't mind clicking on the links it's fine with me ;)

i promise i can't answer your question the way some of the folks around here can

it's actually a lack of color that provides the effect in those nice shots ... take a picture and in post-processing drop the saturation a bunch

you will end up with a shot that's similar

All right, thanks a lot Faza for that tip ;)

I'll try it with some photos of mine, I wonder what they're gonna look like :D

Again, thanks for your answer

actually, i'm wrong, it's more complicated than that ...

here's an original shot by me (oh baby, a bitten apple!):

and here's a version in which i dropped saturation and exposure but uppped contrast and temperature:

as you can see, it's not the same thing ... hopefully someone especially clever will weigh in to point out the other subtleties!
