Of the two, I think I prefer the 2nd one.

I like that you've chosen monotone for it. For some reason, I think the orange clouds in the 1st picture detract from the stark personality of the structures. By going monochrome in #2, you've put the focus not on color, but on lighting and perspective.

Also, the composition of #2 places the focus much more on the subject. In #1, there are a lot of other things in the photo, especially on the right-hand side, and I think that's a bit distracting.

I like the amount of exposure you've chosen for #2 as well -- it looks just right to me!

..But, that's just my humble opinion. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Tlempke,

I'm with Vertigo on this - the second one a very interesting. Compositionally it has both good position and weight in the picture. It's odd form and no real frame of reference for judging the size or even what it actually is, maintains the viewer's interest.

Thanks for the comments. I also like the second one that I took. Hopefully will have some more up this coming weekend. Probably going to go down to the industrial district and see what I can find, maybe the Miller Brewery as well.
