The first two shots were taken from vantage points no more than 200 yards apart.

Look left and see the Forth Rail Bridge.......


....then look right and see the Forth Road Bridge....

(the boat was treated in photoshop to make it white for contrast rather than the deep orange it actually came out)

....and finally a view from above the road bridge - first attempt at light trails from traffic....


Let me know what you guys think.

Does seem a bit blurry. Can't really tell why though.

Nice photos. But they look underexposed to my eye.

Next time, you can try to apply +1EV and to pull back a little in Photoshop.

I really like the first one in particular, great framing with the anchor and all. Might be nice to have a little more light, but amazing results for first night shots.

Thanks for your comments. On the blurring (which I didn't notice so thanks for pointing it out!) - it may have been that I forgot to switch of VR for the first shot (not used to using a tripod) or that I chose a poor aperture i.e. aiming to have the anchor in focus with the blurry background (not a good approach for landscapes I know).

I was all fingers and thumbs trying to work out what to do I have to admit - it was cold, dark and I was confused!!

I ended up leaving the camera in mirror-up mode and spent ages in the camera club a few days laters with lots of members helping and trying to work out why the shutter wasn't releasing and I couldn't take any pics of the portrait model sitting for us --arrrggh! I felt a right numpty when we finally figured it out. All good experience I suppose.......
