I keep my fireplace wood in the garage, neatly piled on the sides. Fireplaces are the best, they save you a ton of money and there's nothing like sitting next to a warm fireplace when it's cold outside!

I have some in the garage also, easier to get to it, but most is kept out back. Actually there's quite a bit back there, we cut down 2 Ash trees this summer because of the "Emerald Ash Borer", that worm has done alot of damage down here in Southwestern Ont.

Speaking of fireplaces....Here's a shot of one of my sons stoking ours up at Christmas........

Yeah, living anywhere near Ontario, it's nice to have a fireplace for these cold winters! We cut a few trees down two summers ago, because they were dead, but that wood is long done. My dad knows someone who works at a local furniture factory, so they got us a few truckloads of "scraps" this winter...

Burn mostly Maple and Birch here.
My house is heated by woodstove 2-3 cords per winter.
It's sometimes dirty.
Its a pain to cut/stack/carry.....

Wouldn't have it any other way

I do have electric heat but....$$$$...I don't think it has kicked in ever in 12yrs here.
