Not sure how it happened but part of our yard started on fire where we burn trash. Makes for some interesting (imo) photos. Tell me which you think are best, I can't really decide. Also, tell me what you would have done..I can get back out there and take more any time and maybe get better shots.

The one I really like is the barrel... It is something different... Not normally taken in photos... I like the colors of them all but something about them I am not a fan of... Maybe a little less crop showing the whole tree... Just a thought...

#1 is the obvious pick of the 4 as it has some degree of compositional structure; the others don't. The subdued colour works well, but it still lacks impact through no apparent foci (a result of the colours, lack of contrast, and harsh bokeh produced by the lens). Therefore I'd be suggesting compositional work - think of foregrounds, the subject, and framing. Lighting is going to be difficult to remedy as these examples show that it was flat, despite it being a cloudless day. I'd be thinking along the lines of casting harsh shadows from objects to build visual lines to pull across a frame with some dramatic light.
