Nice shots, I really like my 14-54mm. Too bad I have no feeling for landscapes and architecture, most shots I take with the lens just have nothing special.

Trying to show off how this lens handles flare (keep in mind weather also effects it)

Nice photos, but I gotta ask. Are you show casing the lens, or are you showing off your PP skills?

If it were not for his fantastic skills we can not see how great this lens is...
Thanks, Heavywinds. btw, How will you compare this lens with 12-60mm?

I only shoot in raw,it's not just to just convert it to jpeg. When you shot in jpeg the camera makes a guess at what you want, sets white balance and sharpens the picture. I just do it myself after i take the pictures (my screen at home is better than the cameras) do you want to call that PP skills? I'm also no expert on it btw, but we had so few examples of Olympus camera lens so i posted so give some feedback to owners. Olympus makes objectively "the best" lens for any DSLR. Also, when new materials are developed for ccd/cmos sensors (like black silicone that is 100-500 times more sensitive to light) four-thirds cameras will show off its digital only design. (i'm sure full frame will also be great..but large lens are hard and expensive to perfect)

I wish I had the $$ for the 12-60mm and if you want to wait and save to get it (its almost double the price) it would be worth it. It also has a very nice AF motor much like the canons (but faster :)

I might just end up keeping the 14-54mm and buy the new 9-18mm 1:4.0-5.6 when it hits the market.

I will post a raw picture just for comparison.

buy it from amazon...399 or you can also buy it used. The new 14-54mm that just came out sells for 550 on BHphoto...it is made to be used with the 420 or 520 live view.

Here's a little contribution to the 14-54 thread.

This is the San Jacinto Battleground Monument, located east of Houston. Taken with the E-510, 14-54 @14mm, f/2.8, ISO100, noise reduction off, sharpness -1:

It's interesting that all your photos have rounded corner.
You photoshop every photo in Flickr?

I have Photoshop Elements, but I rarely use it. Too complicated for my noobie mind.

I post-process photos with the Olympus Master software that come with Oly cameras. But the rounded edges are from the Picnik editing software that is linked through Flickr. I was putting a frame around the photos at first. But decided to switch to the rounded edges.

Two new shot with the old 14-54mm.

54mm f5.6
I really wonder about the Bokeh of the new Version, as it is supposed to be better
Image

Look at the lower left corner. The sharpness does not seem to decline towards the edges of the image, even though the lens is wide open.

54mm, f3.5
