Hi everyone, welcome to the Camera Labs Lens Gallery!

As suggested by forum members, this new section is where people can share images taken with a specific lens. So if you're thinking of buying a new lens, check here to see what other members are doing with theirs!

It's like a user review, but concentrating on images...

The rules are very simple!

1: First check to see if there's an existing thread for your lens. If there is, please add to it. If there isn't, please start a new one using the full lens name as the title. (we may edit this for style and consistency).

There should only be one thread per lens, regardless of the camera body used.

2: Post a selection of images which show-off this lens. Variety is key here. Please don't post a series of similar images! Go for ones which are different and illustrate the kind of things you can use this lens for. For now we'd ask that you limit the number of images to three or four, so only choose your best! Remember this is a showcase for the lens! If you only have one great image, that's absolutely fine.

3: Images should be no more than 1024 pixels on their longest dimension. Please also include a little descriptive text telling us what camera you used and why the lens was good for this kind of shot.

Any questions? Please reply to this thread.

And now, it's over to you! Show us what your favourite lenses can do!

Gordon

PS - if you'd like to learn more about lenses or need help deciding on which lens is best for you to buy, check out the Cameralabs Lens Buyers Guide.

The following quote was created as a separate thread in the Lens Gallery. Gordon has indicated in the first post of this thread that comments and questions should be posted here. Here is the text from the deleted thread:-

It'd be nice if anyone could show some sample images from any wide angle lens compared to a super-telephoto lens.

Thanks,

In reply, I'm not sure whether such comparative tests are within the guidelines as set out by Gordon above when he states "there should only be one thread per lens".

Bob.

So far so good. It looks like this forum is really taking off and will be a good source of information.

Please don't post different threads depending on lens-mount or body.
It's just the lens that counts here!

thanks for the info Thomas 8) Are there any + or - to a mirro lens?

I love how my moon shot came out at 300mm (= to 480mm). I have seen some 500mm from $200 and up. I would need/like one for wild life shots. I got to thinking (still hurts ) at 500mm that would be 800mm on my XTI (500 X 1.6 = 800) then I could REALY see the moons surface and that would be way cool 8) 8)
any one have one to sell?

Nick

This section should be ordered alphabetically. If possible.

Well I already thought about it. that would be nice as long as the list fits on one page. But assuming that the list gets wrapped to another page, I would not want to do without the "latest posts on top" ordering.
The other idea could be to make sub-sections for the manufacturers (Canon, Nikon, Sigma, etc.). But I'm not sure whether Gordon could do something like this on the board!?
