Just wanted to throw in a few close up macro shots taken with this lens as well.

An example of the extremely shallow DoF - this fly was less than a centimeter in length.

Fantastic shots,i love em, i have been looking at the 60mm macro or the 100mm but i think after seeing the results from the 60mm i should go for this one

Canon 400D. BG-E3. canon 18-55mm. canon 28-80mm. sigma 70-300mm APO macro.

All of the photo's were just great - I have this lens under the Christmas tree - wife said I have to wait - so it will be totally new to me - but my question to you folks that have it - what mode do you use the lens in - (instructions suggest AV mode) or are you changing from AV to TV to manual - using different modes for that certain photo? I am totally confused at what setting this lens should be used at - ISO/exposure/ect. - or is it just a learning experience? Note to myself - as I have been learning more about the concept of hyperfocal distance - I find this (and any lens) more easy to use - obtaining better contrast and shaprness with the photographs that I have been taking. AV is the way to go - you just have to understand the distance factor of where you set your focus points and the relation of that point - forward of and back of - for the shaprness of your photographs.
