A new lens to my collection, and what a lens!
I wanted to take one of these old lenes apart just to see the insides and how it's made, so I bought one! to my surprise when I got it,
it was in prestine condition, moving the focus ring was just so smooth and flawless, the aperture ring just clicked into the stops,
I new this was one of those old gems they talk about.
Putting the Priority setup on (Release),
Afw/shutter to (off),And switching to Manual Focus.
I bought a adapter for it and carfully put it on the SLT A77V, looking good so far!
Switching it on the focus motor started to whirl for 10 seconds, made the old ticker miss a beat for a minute.
Looking at the live view, which was a bit dark I altered the aperture to lighting it! and when opened to f1.2 it was to bright,
moving in back it didn't make much differance, looking at the irus and moving the aperture ring back and forward it remained
wide open?
The solution was to take off 0.21" from the aperture pin, which was to long, and pressing against the new adapter,
this was done with a Diamond grinding wheel.
Now everything is done with the lens.

2: Focus

Another point is in the metadata it tells you the shutter speed, but the aperture always remains at f1.7

But the results are stunning, and considering that this a prime f1.2 lens and cost £20 what a bargain of the decade!

Hi blindasabat,

Thanks for the new addition to our gallery. I hope you don't mind but I've removed the camera specific reference in the thread title. The intention is one lens per thread regardless of the camera behind it and including the camera in the title might encourage others to start separate threads.
