OK, here are some shots with my Tamron 70-300mm.

Image
This was taken at 300mm and croped

Image
This one was at 70mm (not croped)

Image
taken at 180mm set into macro mode no croping

The build is nice. It does not feel like a toy like the canon 75-300 does.
here are the specs

Filter size-- 62mm
Min Focus Dis-- 1.5m (4.92')
Max Mag. Ratio-- 1:2 at macro 300mm
Overall Length-- 119mm (4.7")
Max Diameter-- 76.6mm (3.0")
Weight-- 460g(16.2oz)
The macro is only from 180mm-300mm and there is a switch you have to use to set it.

Nick

Hi Nick12984,

I've moved the "(at 180-300mm)" qualifier out of the topic title and into your post. I hope you don't mind but we are trying to keep to just one thread per lens in this forum and your original title of "Tamron 70-300 F/4-5.6DI LD Macro 1:2 (at 180-300mm)" might have encouraged someone to start a new thread for other focal lengths. Thanks for your understanding. 8)

Bob.

P.S. Also, I've just noticed that you included a shot at 70mm. Now I'm really confused! :?

The lens is 70-300mm. the macro settings are only from 180mm-300mm. there is a locking switch on the lens that once at 180mm you can "lock" it and it will only be a 180-300mm macro lens and won't let you go any less then 180mm. unlocked you can go 70-300mm but I don't know if that disables the macro.

Sorry I did mis-type in the last post. I will fix it.
I will take some pics of the lens ans post them.

Nick

Hi folks,

This thread ended up with a significant number of posts asking questions about this lens rather than including pictures taken with (or of) this lens. This section of the forum is primarily intended to be a Gallery (hence the name) so I've split these posts out into the Tamron forum where they belong. Please continue the Q & A session at Tamron 70-300 F/4-5.6DI LD Macro 1:2 Discussion. Thanks. 8)

Bob.
