Hello...
I managed to get myself a flash from an really old camera, and since I was interested in making some experiences with it (and not spending 200€ on a new canon flash) I was wondering If using it with my canon 400D will damage it?

Thanks

I used my dads really old flash on mt 450D once, but I wouldnt use it on my new 40D since there is always a chance to mess ur camera up with old flashes like that.

But I am not 100 percent sure about that.

I never heard of a flash messing up a camera. The flash works, or it will not work.

Did you do a internet search, to see if there are any known problems.

some flashes can screw up cameras because of it's voltage...

not sure what this means...i've never heard of it but it's what i've heard every time...
