my camera is Canon EOS 450D w/ 18-55mm IS lens..

Should i activate the Image stabilizer or not?

pls advice on tips..

You'll need to use long exposures of around 4 seconds (possibly more). For this you'll obviously need your camera on a tripod or some kind of secure support which means the IS should be turned off. This is because in trying to compensate for movements that are not there (because it's on a tripod) the IS system can induce shake of its own.
