Hi

I am a relative newbie to timelapse photography but did these in my local area a couple of days ago.

Some of the scenes seem to loose their quality. How would I over come this? I am using a Sony Alpha A500 with a 75-300mm lens.

Any comments on how they can be improved would be fantastic.

I'd google timelapse and read up on shutter speeds to blur movement. The vehicles and ferry's movements are very 'blocky'. Using a 2-3 stop ND filter will slow shutter speeds down and each individual image may then be blurry, but the end result will be smoother in the timelapse video.

And I'd also look up 'deflickering software'.

A Polfilter and a Aparture of maybe f/16 would seem better to me. Gets rid of the haze, stops the sea from reflecting all that light and makes the sea look more blue.

Just watched the 2nd clip. It seems you also have camera shake. Did you press the button every time or do you have a Timelapse device?
