 Post subject: Tutorial use

Hope this doesn't sound utterly stupid, but can some of the tutorials for DSLR be also used by those with manual settings on their p&s? I'm sure not all would relate, but maybe the basic tutorials & tips? If not, is their a good basic source ( "for dummies"--sort of joking) for this type of thing.

I know the camera I get will have a manual and hopefully it will be user friendly, but that video aspect might come in handy.

if you have a manual mode, apreture priority mode and shutter priority mode all dslr tips will help, although don't expect same results because of other specs of the point and shot

i dont think you understood me on that quote, it is obvious that results wont be the same but i was rather talking about the stuff gordon talks about in tutorials, for example blurring the background is not that easy on compacts than it is on dslr with the same settings..
