Hi all,

I was asked to take photos in a fashion show and i was wondering what is the best lense to use.
please advice me if possible.

Mostly depends on how close you are to the stage. 70-200 works well for longer distances as you can cover the model both far away, as closer by.

Thanks for the tip...until now i didn't visit the show place so am not clear about the lights and all
by using the 70-200mm for the far shut will the extarnal flash be enough
btw what about using the 18-250mm???

An 18-250mm will only open to f5.6. I dont know what the lighting at fashion shows is like, but bear in mind this may not be wide enough to freeze the action.

I have 70-300mm, 18-250mm, 28-80mm n am going to get 28-135mm soon
if u can suggeste a lense it will be perfect.

I would recommend a fast telephoto lens..

24-70mm 2.8 (if you're gonna be somewhat close to the runway.
Or...70-200mm 2.8 if you're obviously not going to be too close to the runway.

Fashion shows usually have low light in the room itself and the stage is blasting with light to illuminate the models so everyone can see them clearly.

You're best option is to go with a fast lens so that you will be able to open the aperture wide enough to get a blurry background, use a low iso and a fast shutter speedf to get all the action without blurring the models movements when they catwalk down the strip.

do i have to get a canon 70-200 f2.8?? its abit expensive for my bodget now
what about the sigma??

the sigma is awesome. I'm not sure what camera you are using but i'm sure that if you open up to 2.8 and use ISO 800 you should be fine.
