 Post subject: cropped body ?

I have read several posta that mention the term "cropped body" . What does that mean ? Thank you for your time. Billfo

it refers to a digital camera sensor which is smaller than a standard 35mm film frame whereas a full frame body has a sensor the size of a 35mm film frame

Indeed. It's like your D5000, whihc has an APS-C sized sensor (nikon calls this format DX)
