Hi All

What is bracketing or HDR?

Is both same or different techniques from each other...

recently i have taken couple of snaps and my friends advised me that i shud have gone for HDR , bracketing of 4-5 snaps and make some changes in photoshop which will make those snaps even better..

Can you please shed some light on this?

HDR, (high dynamic range) is a technique where you combine images of the same subject taken at different exposures.

Bracketing is a feature on some cameras where you set a number of shots and a difference in exposure levels, the camera will automatically switch between those exposure settings over the number of shots you have chosen. For example you can bracket 3 shots with an EV of 2.0. You will end up with one shot with an EV of -2.0 one in the middle and one at +2.0. You could then take these 3 shots and combine them into an HDR image.
