Hello All:

Well, after being a silent spectator for a while, I went ahead and posted my first picture!

For the past week I've been trying to capture the idea of "cold" in a picture but without much luck. Until I grabbed a little Canadian flag I have at home and took a picture of it.

What better to represent cold than the red maple leaf of the Canadian flag?. Canada after all is "The True North"!.

Camera Model: Canon 450D
Lens and focal length: IS 18-55, 42mm
Aperture: f/5.0
Shutter Speed: 1/30
Sensitivity: 800
Post processing: some touch ups with iPhoto

Was trying to freeze all sorts of things to photograph them frozen, but nothing came out frozen as i intended !!. So went back to basics to something i was sure that would be cold to the core.

Ok, wanted to try and submit again this month, loved the fact the challenge was quite open to artist presentation and that there was no cull on the create process with an open invitation to do as much or as little PP as you like, so nice one Ed :)

My entry:

Well this is a first for me. I have certainly never entered a photo competition before - on or offline! Lets hope I haven't broken any rules.

Canon 450D, 18-55mm kit lens at 55mm, ISO100, 1/200s with built in flash. F/32 handheld. PS CS4 to de-saturate, adjust curves and crop. Thats it.
