Thanks for the replies grahamnp, Melvin87 and ChinaMark. I too wish I had taken this photo in May, but ... too bad.
Hope I'll take another photo that will fit this month's theme.

I was going to post this one for the theme but I thought it was maybe a bit too depressing.

Image

It scores on a number of levels in that it causes me to reflect on my luck and the girls name was May. Still too depressing though.

Thanks. Too late for entry though. I'm happy enough with my entry anyway.

Zorro, I too think that's a good picture. It is depressing, but makes one reflect too. And "May" is of course very original. Did you have permission to make this 'portrait'?
I like the dark theme of the photo, suits the object very well.

Hi tim_b_w,

Welcome to the forums! Great to see that you decided your first post should be an entry into "On Assignment" of the month.

That's a great shot of your..err...metal globes there. Are they Bocchia balls?

Cheers :-)

My "work' computer suffered a crash, so have been unable to check the new posts until today...and you guys are AMAZING. I love this month's submissions! Chaplain Blake brought out some real creativity!

wondered where you were, Lensbaby...glad all is well, and I agree, this months "episode" for on assignment, is incredible...just amazing, Zorro, I love that shot...not depressing, but more "sobering"...love it, and the shadow play.

I had better get quacking if I hope to stand a chance for this months assignment...

hi all,
Quentin I love the colours in your entry fantastic.
Zorro yours is magical, I was looking trying to work out what makes it.
I think it may be the perspective on the left hand side, along with the spire. The lighting seems perfect to me well done mate.
regards GCJ :)

Thanks very much, what can I say, lol. You've no idea how many times I've taken that shot only to get it home and for one reason or another it's just not right. That day I was lucky. Everything just clicked, as it were. Glad some of you folks are liking it. I think the standard here is getting better by the month. It's hard just trying to keep up.

G'day everyone. Gee you're a talented bunch. They're all my favourites. I've just added mine and as a new member this month, I think this is a great idea, can't wait for next months photo challenge - it gets me out there and thinking about what I'm shooting not just p&s.
