Hello everyone, welcome to March's Assignment!

The theme for this month is suggested by Big Pix, who won the January 2008 competition. In his own words:

"the challenge for March will be ....... "TIME"....... and your submitted image must be shot in the month of March 2008, along with a few words about your submitted image if possible but not necessary, just trying to make it interesting

here are some hints, a moment in time, a place in time, aged with time, space and time....... now, there is enough to get you thinking"

So the photo you submit should be taken during the month of the actual assignment - ie during March 2008. You're also only allowed to submit one image, and you can't change you mind once it's posted!

As always, please exercise good judgement on what is suitable for the forum.

Please include a sentence or two with your photo describing what you were trying to achieve and if there were any particular challenges in doing so.

We're all enthusiasts here, so it's also great to see what equipment you used and the settings too. So please also include the following:

What represents time more than a clock? I call this one "moving through time". Wanna get my entry in nice and early so I don't procrastinate like I did on the last assignment. I zoomed the lens in during the exposure to give it the effect of forward motion.

I was able to leave work early today, and I read about the new "On Assignment"-theme: Time. My mother collects clocks, so I had plenty of material to work with.
This is the picture I started with. I didn't really like it, nor any of the other pictures I took of my mother's other clocks. I did lots and lots of editing in Photoshop, and was happy with the final result. I am not a very experienced Photoshopper, so creating this image was a bit of a challenge.

When I think of “TIME”, I think about that last minute left in the morning when I can rest peacefully. The difference one minute can make is incredible! One minute your are resting peacefully, the next you are throwing your pillow at that blasted alarm clock, with your eyes still half way shut. Good times!

Hello! time was a really great theme. I had lots of fun shooting at least 10 different ideas... by the way bthall17 you shot the same idea as one of mine, except my clock was set at 6:59 and your looks way better.

When I flipped through the TIME magazines i realized time doesn't help man kind to learn from his mistakes...

Hey,

I see time as an endless path that we each commit to. Every step is a moment in our lives and each one changes our overall perspective and helps us grow and reach forward.
This was my inspiration for this photograph and I've felt that the overall deterioration and the unclear (blown-out) center, to which each step leads also added to the idea of time.

It was quite dark in this corner of the wood so the task to capture the dilapidated hut with the remaining colors was quite challenging.

hi guys. this is my submission for this month's assignment. For this picture, i use Comic life application in post production. I combined three different pictures to give the sense of time changing. All the three pictures were taken in 20 minutes and you and see the changes from 7.50pm to 8pm and to 8.10pm..

OK. I didn't wanna get left behind...lol...am trying to keep up with you guys..

This is another story, from my ranch truck obsession in my lust to find the old trucks..... this, an old ford, who is waiting to be restored...seems happy there, in the field, with the yellow flowers...I wish this one the best, and I wish it could talk, too BP. I think it is a 1938. I hear the plans are to restore it next year...into a creamy pearl version of perfection...I hope so..

Can ya see his chrome heart shining, in the sun....just waiting...for his time time time..to come again...

"Natures revenge" (Sorry for the title!) or "Times creeping":?:

Ruined castle in Hadleigh Essex, about 1 or 2 miles from where I live. Natural land slide has pulled most of the 800+ year old castle down the Hadleigh downs (towards my house in fact).

Hand held shot, added effect is the lens flare and Cool filter (80). No colour or level correction. Total amature so comments welcome.
