The restriction is that you cannot create an artificial silhouette (that wouldn't be very photographic!), but you can enhance or intensify one."

Can you please clarify this a little? For instance, is it considered artificial to pose someone or something in front of the Sun? Or is it you dont want to see the use of artifical light that is in place for the sole purpose of the pic? If the latter, I assume a "naturally" occurring artificial light(s) would be OK.

Yes, what Trevor said. Don't take a well exposed photo then increase contrast to black out the shadows for a silhouette. I don't think it should be a problem to get a silhouette though. Good luck!

Well I dont know about anyone else but bagging any shots to use for this months assignment has been really tough. I assume that lots of people are struggling a bit by the fact its the middle of the month and I'm the first to post

Have I gone to early, is every one else just playing poker??? lol

No Ian, you are right, I'm struggling. I have a feeling mine will be a water tower infront of a nice sunset :( Don't get me wrong, this months subject is a great idea, I just don't have a good selection for anything around here. BTW, nice shot Ian!

Glad it hasnt been just me finding this hard. Thing I wanted to try and get was some depth to the image. I'm quite pleased with my submission now but what a fight if felt to get something acceptable

And if the noose would have been hanging so you could see it I almost would have lied and said it was shot this month :D naw, I would never do that, what would be the fun in the contest.

My first ever submission for the assignment.

Was out late on the eve of Chinese New Year, then thought why not get to some place with the view of the sunrise and maybe get something worth for this month's submission. No PP. Posted just the way it was taken.

Hope it stands up to some of the submissions.

Lots of good photos from page 2. Will be hard. Ended up picking Kimchi over Mr Moose, but it was close.
