Here's an interesting story of the severe misfortune of some Reuters photographers and staff during the recent Tour de France:

Thankfully, no one was injured. Gear can always be replaced (although I did shed a tear for their BBQ'ed Canon glass...)



About 10 yrs ago I followed the tour for a few days on a touring bike but now would love to go back on a photographic holiday/tour, esp. the dramatic mountain stages.

Great story and a very interesting read. I particularly liked the "Behind the Scenes" video on the Reuters page at the bottom of that article. I nice insight into the professional photography world.
